 Details
This past weekend, hackers successfully broke into a Microsoft development site server handling the company's "BetaPlace" - a place where multitudes of computer users take part in testing new Microsoft products.

The hacker(s) who managed to get past the Microsoft dogs did not have full access but would have been able to fool with beta-tester passwords and personal email addresses. No specific damage was detected but nonetheless Microsoft, in response to the breach, has advised its over 20,000 beta testers to change their individual passwords to the BetaPlace system and is now cooperating in a search for the perpetrator.
