Description: A vulnerability was reported in HP-UX in the Partition Manager. A remote user may be able to gain access to the system.

HP reported that parmgr(1M) does not properly validate certificates sent from the 'cimserver'. A remote or local user may be able to compromise the target system.

Only HP-UX version B.11.23 is affected, according to the report.

Impact: A remote user can gain information about the target system and gain access to the target system.

Solution: HP has released a fixed version (B.11.23.02.00), available at:

The software can be installed using Software Distributor (SD).
